The well-known ecommerce platform BigCommerce has abruptly announced the discontinuation of its Affiliate Program. Affiliate partners were informed of the decision on 13 May 2025, with the program closing four days later on the 17th.
The affiliate program, which allowed partners to earn commissions by promoting the BigCommerce platform, has over the years been a significant channel for customer acquisition and brand promotion. Its closure marks a notable shift in the company’s approach to partnerships and marketing.
The company has not detailed the specific reasons for this move, but the development comes amid broader changes within BigCommerce. In late 2024, the company underwent a restructuring that included workforce reductions.
